Updated: A helpful suggestion for all of us!
Clarification: What I am referring to in this post is that the posters themselves make the "strike-out" corrections when editing their posts... based on the suggestions made by the moderators in the comment box. I am NOT saying that the moderators should do this.
Especially in the games, it wood would be very helpful to those of us learning Spanish (or English) if everybody would "strike-out" there their mistakes instead of just editing them.
Many times I look back at the sentence after the moderator makes a suggestion, and it would be VERY nice to sea see the mistake so we can all learn from it.
If you do not now know how to "strike" out a word, it is very easy:
When you edit your sentence, put <s> before the mistake and </s> after the mistake, and then type the correction.
Super fácil, ¿no?
Another option could be to edit like in THIS post. At least something to show us what the original error was.
¡Mucho Muchas gracias!

I suggested this a long time ago. The response I got was very good - just click on the edit button and you can see the original and all other versions of the post.
I want to know how to do this. I think it is a great idea. Let met me try thes.this.
I think it is a great idea. If I could only remember it.
I'm gonna start bolding all my wrong answers and then I will italicize the right ones.
I will do that with every pointless "yo" that I see in the forum.
This is what I'm talking about:
http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/194244/english-word-of-the-day-beside#a454236
That was my entry for the word-of-the-day. What I typed wrong was not a typo. It was an error that I'll bet a million dollars that tons of people will make.
I learned from it... and I'll bet a few others learned from it today, too.
But they may not have bothered to look at the "edit".
So, why not help each other out... it only takes a few seconds.
Oh... feel free to vote on my sentence while you're there. LOL!
Heidi... you have hugely misunderstood what I was trying to say.
The moderators should not make the corrections... but the individual posters should. They already edit the post... why not take a few extra seconds to show others what mistake they made so we don't make the same mistake?
As I said before, I will be very happy to see you use this method from now on Tosh.
For EVERY single mistake I make, I edit this way:
Look at how nice this is. At a glance, you see my error and the corrections that I made based on the moderators suggestions.
Are you sure you have the right person, Heidi?
Actually, I have reviewed some of your posts, tosh, where have you ever used this type of corrections? Or was this just a reminder for other people?
I have only seen two people do this here: Izan, and quentin.
Their corrections are great, however, they don't correct all the time, unlike others![]()
On my threads, I always bold the corrected answer.
As I said before, I will be very happy to see you use this method from now on Tosh![]()
Hey Tosh, tht that is wat what I do anywa anyway! rofl

Thanks! Would like to know how you did that.
When you wish to type html tags so that they appear in the text (as opposed to instructing the browser), you must escape out the < and > symbols. To do that, you type < for the < and > for the >. You must include the & symbol on the front and the semi-colon symbol on the end.
<s> = <s>
</s> = </s>
.
Bonus:
To write things like < you must escape out the & symbol....
< = <
> = >
Some mistakes are outright embarrassing. And I wish they would not show in the edit dialogue box.
We can tell if somebody has made an edit to their post and if a comment undernearh indicates an error was made.
Sometimes (depending on the error), it is helpful enough just to read the sentence the correct way. If it is possibly a common mistake, strikethrough might help. But if it is an embarrassing stupid mistake. We ought to respect the wish to keep it out of sight. ![]()
Edit: I just fixed a couple of typos.
No need for strikethrough.
Buena idea Tosh!
You are very smart.

Jeje... you liked my correction habits huh? Well, it's true, I got the idea a long time ago from DR1960 and thought it was genious, so i've used it sense. It is very helpful for others to see your mistake and the correction so they don't do the same. ![]()
But they may not have bothered to look at the "edit".
If they don't, why should the correctors bother? ![]()
So, why not help each other out... it only takes a few seconds.
It only takes a few seconds to correct ONE post like this, tosh, it takes a lot of seconds to correct ALL posts like this.
Tosh, I will be happy to see your corrections like this, but trust me, no official corrector, that is, Tomburgos, marianne, jenny, myself, lazarus...we are not going to "bother" to spend yet even more time on the corrections, especially considering, that as you yourself said: people don't even BOTHER to look at the edits, which is open to everybody![]()
Not gonna happen, Tosh![]()
When you edit your sentence, put "
" before the mistake and "" after the mistake, and then type the correction.Super fácil, ¿no?
No, no super fácil.
Do you really need the quotation marks?
