Ser vs Estar... "this"
Hey, I've noticed that the word "this" can be written like "este" or "esta". Este es mi bebe Esta es mi madre
Is this a Ser vs Estar thing or not?? How do I know when to use the two?
Thanks

Well, one could se how it can be confusing.
este=east (noun)
este=this masculine, singular (demonstrative adjective)
éste, este=this masculine, singular thing (demonstrative pronoun)
esté=is or are (present tense in the subjunctive mood of the verb estar)
este=filler word [muletilla] or interjection similar to er in English.
and then there is esta, ésta, and está....
