I was text messaging this guy friend of mine and we were talking about our middle names... random I know but...
I asked him his middle name, he said he didn't have one, he asked mine, I said 'Mae' and he said 'hmm mae, how about querida or carino'
Well I guess my question would be how should I interpret that'

He meant something like: how about he calls you my love or my dear. Is a very affectionate way to express or address to someone.
At least this is what i understand from your comment.
