what does "de bien" mean?
From Garcia-Marquez Vivir para contarla: un nativo de bien...entró en una cantina...

Hi and welcome to the forum.
"Hombre de bien" = honest man
So, I'd say "un nativo de bien" would mean an honest native.
Like Mariana said.
How about "a man of good"?
He belongs to a good family, I mean with money $$$. Or he is a good person an honest man.
