Is it true atorar and astracarse are synonyms?

Although the RAE lists the two as synonyms, the two are used differently.

If a screw were stuck in a piece of metal, you would use "atorada."

If a car were stuck in the mud, you would use "atascado."

There are around a dozen Spanish words for stuck and a similar number for blocked, many of them being the same. Which one is most commonly used depends on context and region. When a screw is stuck and you can't get it out easily, workmen here use pegado; obviously this is not universal.

"Astracarse" does not exist; you probably mean "atrancar", which is a synonym of "atorar" in most contexts.

ahm I don't think so.. I think atorar and atascar or maybe obstruir could be synonyms.
