Lol, I think I will keep what I have at the moment! Lmao
I generally skip every other release of operating systems. That goes back to the D O S days. Everyone knows only the even-numbered D O S's were any good. ![]()
Win 95 was the first usable Windows. Anything earlier really was awful. But 95 was not stable. 98 was a golden version. M E was a disaster. I actually owned it, unfortunately. X P was another golden version, and I'm still running it on our print server at home, and we still use it at work on our development machines. I never owned, or even touched, a computer running NT, 2000, or Vista. I've been running Win 7 on a couple of machines at home for about a year, and I think it's the best one, yet. Which means the next one is going to be disappointing.
Of course Microsoft wants your money. That doesn't mean you have to give it to them. If you're happy with what you have, why switch? If not, buy a Mac or load Ubuntu. Do be aware that they continuously release new versions of their O S, too. At least Ubuntu's are free.
Just what we need Ian. All of our computers will be obsolete and we will be at their mercy. Even with all it's faults, my vista lap top is not a bad little computer. I hope it lasts a while longer.
They always come out with new and better technology new stuff just about every month ![]()
