J in Spain, is it H or KH

Hola!

When it comes to pronouncing "J", I'm hearing different accents on the flashcards from that on the dictionary.

My question is, in Spain is "J" pronounced as H or as KH? KH as in the Arabic name khaled, the Rai singer?
And if both are used in Spain, which one is more common? Gracia

Yes, the Spanish J (and G, in some cases) is like the German ch or the kh in khaled (but maybe not quite as strong?)

I don't know how to pronounce "Khaled". Otherwise I'll be able to ask. :cheese: - fjfuentesh, Jun 2, 2011

It's a really rough English H. Put some phlegm into it.

The "J" have the same sound as "G" in "Gelatina" or "Girasol". As far I know! the "H" have not sound.

O como mi maestra decía "La H es muda" cheese.
