What is the correct word for "proofreader"?

What is the correct word for "proofreader"?

Hello,

I was speaking to someone in Spanish recently and they were a bit confused when I spoke about my job. I was trying to say "I am a proofreader and I work for an English editing service" which I had translated as "Soy redactora y trabajo para un servicio de ingles revisión". Is that how you would express it in Spanish? Can anyone tell me the correct terms for "editor" and "proofreader" - or is there no distinction in Spain?

Thanks,

Jenny

That's really helpful, thanks very much - seems like I'm not the only one confused.

One more thing, there doesn't seem to be separate verbs to distinguish between the two, am I right? So if I wanted to say something like "I proofreader the work and then they edit it", I would have to use corregir for both and then explain the difference between the two processes? (I find it hard enough to explain my job in English!)

Thanks,

Jenny
