Does this mean fried beef steak?

Here in México norte ( beef country) Bistec assumes beefsteak, so if you said " bistec frito" it would be enough.

Bistec frito!.. no lo puedo entender!! . Alomejor "Carne asada" o "Bistec asado" ¿Pero frito? 
Fried cow meat! I can't figure that!! . Maybe "Grilled meat" but fried???

Seems like "bistec frito" would work OK. Bistec = steak. Carne - meat. Res = Cow ,animal.
