Queda muy poco pollo. There is very little chicken left.

Es todo lo que queda. This is all that is left

¿Cuanto queda? How much is left?

Se quedó huerfano. = He has been orphaned. He is orphaned. Not sure of the literal translation but it means that someone is now an orphan and remains so.

For Sharon:

¿Qué queda en la nevera? What is left in the refrigerator?

La carne que queda en la carnicería está llena de moscas. The meat that is left in the meat shop is full of flies.

Los dulces que quedan en el frasco son muy deliciosos.

In order to conjugate quedar with yo, tú, él, etc. you have to use the reflexive form of the verb which means to stay. Here it is in present tense of quedarse but you can use it in any tense you want.

Yo me quedo en casa. I stay at home.

Tú te quedas en el club. You stay at the club.

El se queda en mi casa. He stays at my house.

Nosotros nos quedamos aquí. We stay here.

Ellos se quedan en el cine. They stay at the movies.

The spanish word (quedar) I take it to mean: To remain - Be left: I make up a lot of sentences with Yo, Tu, El, Ella, Ellos, Ellas & Nosotros for example: Nosotros tuvimos trece latas meaning: We had thriteen cans.
Where could I fit the word "quedar" with my limitations at this time? My teacher said the "que" is used a lot so I looked it up and, this seems most important to know. How to use it and where in the sentence it would be used. I have a vocabulary of about 100 words but I can figure out most sounds. Anyway I would appreciate three sentences with the word at the beginning and towards the end so I can get the idea of it. Thanks, Sharon
