(Yo) tengo= I have, (tu) tienes=you have, and tiene=she/he has, and tener=to have - 777student, Mar 1, 2012

Tener is the infinitive form of the verb (unconjugated).

Tiene is the conjugated form of tener in the 3rd person singular (él, ella, Ud.) as in él tiene, ella tiene, Ud. tiene

Tienes is the conjugated form of tener in the 2nd person singular (tú) as in tú tienes.

Don't dismiss a simple question like this, beginning learners of Spanish or of any language are confused by what is so obvious to so many of us.

I think the best way to respond is to show them how they can find the info they need themselves. :) - ian-hill, May 31, 2011

Just enter "tener" in the Conjugation section under "more" above and you will find all you need to know about it.

Your question is like what's the difference between "are" and "to be". Go to the reference section and check the section on verbs, because we can't explain all the basics in just a few lines.
