How to correctly format???

Here in my short passage I have written I am confused on how to format the dialogue with the "pensamiento" part:

**** ok so its not letting me do it how i want this is how i want to look something like this

—Somos mejor amigas en la obra.

«Hmm… ¡que bueno! Tengo una parte» pensé.

— ¡Pero hay más!

— ¿Ya?

— ¡Eres el personaje principal!

Is the formatting with each of the dialogue and thought part right? Any corrections? Thank you!!! smile

I can't quite follow your question, but as far as the Spanish quotations marks (angular quotes):

«Hmm...¡que bueno! Tengo una parte» pensé.

... often known as chevrons or guillemets, comillas franceses or comillas angulares in Spanish

Alt 0171=«

Alt 0187=»

In the first line I am trying to decide if you mean they are best friends, or the best friends in the play (obra). Next, you go from present, tengo una parte, to past Pensé, which would you like. By Ya, do you mean .

As I understand it:

Somos las mejores amigas de la obra (we are the best friends of the play)

...pienso que tengo una parte (also papel or rol) . This is the present form

...Pensé que tenía una parte (also papel or rol). This is the past form

¡Pero hay más!

¿Si?

¡Eres el personaje principal

the content doesn't matter nor does it make sense since I took it out of one of my entries for a story. I am just worried about the formatting. It makes sense when it is read in its entirety. - kanani142, May 30, 2011
thank you though :) - kanani142, May 30, 2011
On the contryry, when you talk about being the best friends of the play, it opens up other avenues of interpretation. Remember, we always have to know what is being done, who's doing it, and who it's being done to. - Rey55, May 30, 2011
What? That does not make any sense since you do not have to understand what is going on to answer my question. But your interpretation of what is going on in the story was wrong anyway. - kanani142, Jun 20, 2011
