I was riding around with a friend when he got into his head that he wanted to buy himself a used car and he wanted me to accompany him. Well, he didn't end up buying anything, but he wanted to thank me. He asked me how to say "thanks for humoring me" in Spanish but I didn't know how to say it.

Very good thought. But in actual day to day conversation, the situation you described could best be said as, Gracias por seguirme la corriente. At least in Mexico.

¡Genial, gracias Rey! I have heard this expression but it didn't come to mind at that moment. Translate something like "Thanks for playing along", right? - gintar77, May 30, 2011
exactly - Rey55, May 30, 2011

So, are you saying that in the context of my situation I could have used complacer? In your example, could you also use "sigueme la corriente"? - gintar77, May 30, 2011
Pretty much; you could use either - 002067fe, May 30, 2011
Thank you! - gintar77, May 30, 2011
