That same morning, don Felicidados took lunch at the best place in town and afterwards played a game of billiards with his friend, don Felipe.

Durante el almuerzo y el partido, escucharon chismes acerca de el sastre; que era un fanfarrón, que tenía una camisa con un extraño mensaje, que se juntaba con matones y ... que para un joven tan afable, él demostraba que la gente buena puede defenderse!

None of that made sense, and don Felipe suggested that don Felicida needed some new clothes ....

.... Nada de esto tenía sentido, y don Felipe sugerió que don Felicidados necesitaba algo de ropa nueva ...

Fear not, small one, you have friends willing to help, and the only task too large is the one you are afraid to attempt.

Muchas gracias por tu ayuda! - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011
Could defend = podía defenderse. Además lo correcto es: extraño, sugirió, matones, acerca del sastre. - Agora, May 29, 2011
Could is often used synonymously with "can";here it means exactly that, the good people (as a group) CAN defend ... - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011
Agora4, I am editing as fast as I can while looking things up and correcting my own text files for this story (so that I do not submit a section from a back, uncorrected text) - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011
Please be patient, muchas gracias! - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011
If you think so....(can- puede/ could- podía) . The context is in past, so, in my opinion "could" in this case means "podía" - Agora, May 29, 2011
Thanks for the corrections, this much data, something always gets by. - Rey55, May 30, 2011

Actually I thought Don was part of the original text because it was set in the last century. That not being the case, try Señor for a more updated feel. However, among older generations and referring to them, the use Don is still quite correct.

High five! Okay, ... now I will change all the "don"s back to "Don"s muchas gracias, muchos veces ?? - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011

I am wondering if the man's name is Don Felicidades instead of Felicidados. Don being a title would be capitalized. Also matones should not have an accent, in the singular form matón yes, but not in the plural - matones.

Really nice advice from Rey 55 (his last sentence).

Oh, boy - Lazarus1907 offered some corrections using "don", so I have changed all those. The name is supposed to be a bit silly, but if Felicidados is too silly, I can change that, too. - Lector_Constante, May 29, 2011
