Can anyone explain to me what is Ampa stands for?

AMPA. I was told it refers to the "bajo mundo or mafia." Is it an acronym for something? Does anyone know where it comes from?

Depends on where you are but here are some possible answers:
Panama - Asociación de madres y padres de alumnos
Costa Rica - Asociación de Motociclistas de Punta Arenas (very famous in Costa Rica, these guys and gals travel up and down all over Central America on their motocicletas)
hampa (spelled with an h) are thugs who devote their time to illegal activities
