If I was refuting, like "Sé que crees que no te entiendo. pero sí que lo hago"

You would say "sí que lo hago" not just "pero lo hago" right? It's like, I DO do it, because that sí also says do, you know? Gracias.

"I do" does not translate literally to "hacer" in this context. What you are really saying is, "but I do (understand you)."

"Sé que crees que no te entiendo, pero sí te entiendo."

The "do" is for emphasis in English. The "sí" is the equivalent emphasis in Spanish. - gintar77, May 29, 2011
