I am trying to say that I sit down on the seat before landing (airplane)

Me siento [en el asiento]
The part in brackets is no necessary, as "asiento" is derevied from "sentar". It sounds like "I water the plants with water".

Me siento antes de aterrizar.
As somebody above pointed out, me siento en el asiento is redundant but it is correct if you want to say it because you could sit in the stewardess' bench in the back or sit on the floor (military planes which don't have seats).
