How would you say "soft spot"?

Question

Can anyone tell me how one would express "soft spot" in Spanish?

For example: "You take advantage of him because you know he has a soft spot for you."

"Te aprovechas de él porque sabes que tiene cariño a ti"

Favor de corregir mi español.

Mi debilidad es el chocolate. Tengo una debilidad por los chocolates.

Mi punto débil eres tú, especialmente cuando me lo pides de esa forma, amiga.

If you are talking about intimate relationships, one way is "........ sabes que te lleva en el corazón," or "...... sabes que te lleva en el alma." The second would have a slightly stronger feeling.

To use your example, it would sound better to say "....... te tiene cariño."

Punto débil or even debilidad, perhaps?

I see soft-spot as exactly that, a weakness. The granddaughter can always get candy from the grandfather because he has a weakness for her, for example. - webdunce, May 27, 2011

Thanks! In English the use is usually not that romantic. You can have a soft spot for a family member or a good friend. I think the closest definition that I can think of for "soft spot" would be "fondness". Would my translation work in this context?

Or perhaps:

Te aprovechas de él porque sabes que tiene un eres su punto débil.

In this case, your first example would be better but using "te tiene cariño" or simply "te quiere" which can be used in friendships as well - 005faa61, May 27, 2011
