The spanishdict dictionary was rated the best online at this site:

I tried to make the link hot but failed. Can someone give me directions for that?

Hi, im the author of that article. I recently updated it, because it was very outdated (2008), I included more words and more online dictionaries in the test, and guess what... SpanishDict still wins hands down! ![]()
Thanks for the link, Babs Irish! ^^
Since we are the subject of tooting Spanishdict´s horn, here´s another post in which the author that mentions it as the best resource he ever used. I have liked Spanishdict for thoroughness.
Yes SD's dictionary is very good.
I would recommend that people also get hold of a copy of "Oxford Study Genie Plus".
It can be downloaded from the internet for free.
Two things are really great about it.
It speaks the English words (great for those learning English)
It has a section that gives examples of how phrasal verbs are interpreted into Spanish. (that is good for all of us)
Hi Babs Irish,
Click here for instructions for posting hyperlinks. It is actually quite simple. ![]()
Wow, babs, good one, I had no idea, I have sent your thread to the web owner ...I suppose they know, but anyway![]()
Quite right too, well done SpanishDict.
I'm a fan of wordreference It's really a brilliant site/dictionary And The Free Dictionary even includes synonyms!
I'm glad to see it has been recognised. I find it way ahead of others when I'm translating stuff. Having all the good people on here for advice as well means you can work much more confidently.
This is fantastic :D
The number of people I know who use Google Translate like a dictionary for single words is absolutely insane.
I try to explain to them how it works and how it's different from a dictionary but nobody's interested in my ravings :D
