You are correct!

Fuera de línea = offline (disconnected)

"Desalineado" is more like "misaligned" or "out of alignment."

If you are standing in line (queue), then you get out of line, it would be "salirse de la cola (fila)."

If you misbehave, you could be considered to be "out of line." In this case, the translation could be "pasarse de la raya."

I agree with you on that out of line is "desalineado"
