What accent will I pick up with the lesson flashcards?

I'm aware that each region in Spanish speaking countries has not only their own differences in vocabulary, but ways of pronouncing words. If I was to somehow perfectly mimic the voice in the flashcard sets (the sets that accompany the video lessons)--using the male version of course--what "style" of verbal spanish would I end up with?

You are not going to "end up" with an accent from doing flashcards. If you were, many of us could lose our gringo accents easily. Even if you put a lot of effort into imitating the accent of the speaker you hear, and even if you do a good job at it, enough to make listeners think you were that guy, there will be too many other speakers influencing your accent. The flashcard guy's speech can be an influence, but only a good one if you have opportunities to hear other speakers.

edit: If you were somehow able to internalize usage and vocabulary from flashcards so that they carried over to sentences you spontaneously speak, you would win the Second Language Learners' Jackpot and never need to study again.

I agree with Sabor.There are too many influences. I ,however ,find that I'm beginning to sound like Cheech Marin and Ricky Ricardo combined.

I think there should be a law against hearing Ricky Ricardo speak English. He sounds great in Spanish, though. - Sabor, May 26, 2011
