I like to play cricket = Me gusta jugar al criquet

This refers to an action that you enjoy doing on a regular basis or simply a statement about something that you like to do

However, I would like to play cricket, as Culé has mentioned is something that you would aspire to do or would like do if something else were possible

eg: ** I would like** to play cricket if I had more time

= Me gustaría jugar al criquet si tuviera más tiempo

Is it "I'd like to play cricket" or "I like playing cricket"? Because they are not the same thing.

I'd like to play cricket.

*Me gustaría jugar al críquet.

I like playing cricket.

*Me gusta jugar al críquet.

Where did you see the "would"? I like to play... and I like playing.... is very similar in meaning in English. - 0074b507, May 26, 2011
