¿Qué es la vuelta?

¿Qué es la vuelta?

So... I live in Locombia and I'm always hearing ¿Qué es la vuelta? o ¿Cómo es la vuelta? o algo así.

Sounds like they are saying 'what is it all about', or, 'what does it entail', or 'what is the story', or similar.

Is this Colombia-specific?

Make any sense to anyone?

What does is actually mean?

Chars,

Aled

So, my girlfriend has just told me that it means 'what is the plan'. Apparently it's sicario slang. I'm not sure if sicario is used all over the Spanish-speaking shop but here they were, in the days of the big cartels, motorcycle murderers.

Seems that it's become part of the modern lexicon here...

Very interesting compa... =) - DJ_Huero, May 25, 2011
Yeah, I guess it makes sense if you are doing a vuelta on your moto with an uzi. Apparently it used to implicitly mean something illegal, now simply 'what's the plan'. - afowen, May 25, 2011
Ahhh, I remember those good ol' days.... just the combo y yo cruisin' around matando los enemigos en nuestros motos. Buenos tiempos... ;-P - DJ_Huero, May 25, 2011
Je je. De hecho, dicen that the reason that everyone who rides a bike here has to wear a vest with the placa on it is to be able to identify people more easily and deter drive-by shootings... - afowen, May 25, 2011
