Please explain the difference between Eso and aquel. When would I use eso and when would I use aquel? Does it matter which one I use or do they both have the exact same meaning?

I think that you wish to either compare/contrast eso and aquello (both neuter) or Ese and aquel (both masculine).

However, the difference between either set is the relative distance that the object being referred to is from the speaker. We have many previous articles that address that topic. like this one
