Here's a new problem:

(I'm talking about heat lighting)

Había relámpago pero no rayos. Todo el cielo iluminó con blanco. FUE/ERA un espactáculo increíble, y el día no ERA/FUE horrible no más.

Well, I know that estar should be in the imperfect because emotions/feelings don't have specific beginnings and endings!

Thanks! That's the way I was leaning too. And I'm thinking remar would be preterite? ...Actually, I'm not sure. "We paddled." "We WERE paddling." It could go either way? - PoppyPatch, May 23, 2011
