How would you translate desviarse here?
Es difícil desviarse de un buen cuento de misterio.
I know what it means, but I have a hard time think what that "desviarse" would translate to....
It's difficult to get around a good mystery, to put your mind on something else when there's a good mystery there...
Gracias.

That's quite a curious way to express that idea. Here, "apartarse" is a synonym of "alejarse" (to become separated). I wouldn't have said a sentence like that, personally.
Well if it can mean deviate, could it be something like 'tear yourself away from'? just a guess as per ![]()
Desviarse means "to deviate" from. Thus, "It is difficult to deviate from a good mystery story", meaning it's hard to get away from it because it is a good story.
It would mean "Es difícil deajar un buen cuento de misterio.
