"Que paso", I don't know, but....

"¡Qué pasó!" can be a greeting, like "What's up!", "How's it goin'!", etc.

"¿Qué pasó?" can also mean "What happened?". So its meaning depends on context.

"¿Qué dijeron al día siguiente?" is, I think, "What did they say the next day?"

I think that "que pasa" can mean "what's up" but I think "que pasó" can only mean what happened.. but I'm not sure - rabbitwho, May 22, 2011
I've heard "¡Qué pasó!" a lot in Mexico. Perhaps it's regional. - NickDan, May 22, 2011
Both are used, as well as "¿Qué hubo?" "¿Qué húbole?" "Qué onda?" "Qué hay de nuevo?" - 005faa61, May 22, 2011

Que paso = What a step! (more as context would allow)

Que pasó = What happened (more depends on context)

Que dijeron al día siguiente = What did they say the following day.
