Can you be "on board" a project?

Using "a bordo"..... estás a bordo? estás a bordo esto con nosotros?
I ask because my bud told me that tripulación can be used as crew like, gang of guys like, I want to be in your crew or something like that. Ganglike.

In Spain it would be a weird thing to say to someone who is not fluent in English. "¿Estás con nosotros?" is pretty standard, though.

Thats the problem, a lot of my native friends are also fluent in English so they might think something is right, becuase they speak English, and not realize how odd it really is. - jeezzle, May 21, 2011
