I want people to find as many sentences as possible that are about Family!

Rules:
- The sentence has to be longer than 6 words.
- The sentence has to be shorter than 21 words.
- You have to write it in English and Spanish.
- You can post more than once if you like!
- Nothing offensive please!
- I would appreciate it if pictures were included!
- Anyone is welcome to post!
----------
- You have to correct your posts according to Lazarus.

Okay, let's see what creative sentences you guys are able to come up with!

My example:

Mi familia me ama, y yo los amo

My family loves me, and I love them

(I am only a beginner! Please edit it if I am wrong!)

it cd be "los amos" but in mex they usually say use "a" plus the pronound--p.e. "quiero a ti" - Marsviking, May 21, 2011
maybe one uses a plural verb for family, same idea as the Brits use they when they after a collective noun - Marsviking, May 21, 2011

Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!

No se puede vivir con ellos.... ¡ni sin ellos tampoco!

It is fine, but you are saying "He/she can't..." If you do not want to refer to anyone in particular, then say "No se puede..." That "se" will remove the need for a specific agent. - lazarus1907, May 21, 2011

Hay muchos tipos y muchas formas de familia. Creo que ningún tipo es mejor que otro. Es el amor lo que hace una familia.

There are many types and many forms of family. I believe that no type is better than another. It is love that makes a family.

After most prepositions, "ti", not "tú". It is like in English, where after a preposition you can't say "he", but "him" (e.g. for him) - lazarus1907, May 21, 2011
Thank you, Lazarus! - --Jen--, May 21, 2011
Jen... I see you dropped the "mismo", too. Couldn't you have left the "para ti mismo" for "for yourself"? - Tosh, May 22, 2011

Sounds good. However, only the comma before "pero" is really necessary in Spanish, unless you really want to make a somewhat dramatic pause on each one. - lazarus1907, May 21, 2011

"Familia", like "family" is singular, so the verb must be in singular. It should be "me da", but we would normally say "me ayuda mucho" instead of "me da mucha ayuda", which sounds a bit odd. - lazarus1907, May 21, 2011
