Es posible que + subjuncitivo ........ only for a future event right?

Question

Es posible que la mostaza en realidad es ketchup.

NOT

Es posible que la mostaza en realidad sea ketchup.

Even though you are unsure.

BUT

Es posible que tengamos que matarla si no se calla.

Because it's a (possible) future event.

Right?

The correct one is "es posible que la mostaza sea en realidad ketchup"

When you say "es posible que", you are saying you do not want to declare the statement that follows. To follow it with a phrase in the indicative would mean that you are declaring it, which makes no sense.

I can't say for sure, but I'm positive that Susan is home right now.

So es posible que pretty much always goes subjunctive? I wonder what some frases are that don't go subjunctive with it?
