Hi, please use proper punctuation/capitalization when posting, there are people here learning English and we need to be a good example to them. I have corrected your post. Welcome to the forum! - Destroyed99, Jun 20, 2011

Todos son buenos maestros.

Son is plural

Es is singular

This is another example where I'm not clear as to why the adjective goes before the noun. Can you please explain why or how you know to do that? - Tosh, May 19, 2011
Tosh, add me to that list! Gracias de antemano... - cristalino, May 19, 2011
if the adjetive is before the noun then it means quality. "Un buen televisor, una buena radio, un buen maestro, un mal padre." - ale_rd, Jun 20, 2011
otherwise, "un maestro bueno" can be a nice person, not necessarily a good teacher. - ale_rd, Jun 20, 2011

Ellos todos son buenos maestros. OR, Ellas todas son buenas maestras.

'Ser' verb is used because 'being a good teacher' is an inherent as well as permananent quality.

I will say "Ellos son buenos maestros". Todos is referring to All.

That is what the question is. Also, you should drop the pronoun "ellos" - pescador1, May 19, 2011
'You should drop the pronoun..." Not in this case. If you drop it, the phrase may be misunderstood: (ustedes) son buenos maestros. - Agora, Jun 20, 2011

Or if all women: Todas son buenas maestras, o maestras competentes, capaces, which was traditionally the case years ago....

Do you have an attempt? Try starting with "Todos son.."
