Well the JW's have been forcasting this event for years upon years without success lol and have had to keep changing the date

Seriously, no one knows when the rapture will be /take place! Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew ch 24 v 36:

''But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven but My Father only''

In Mark Ch 13 v 32 , and 33 also it is also recorded that Jesus said:

''But of that day and hour no one knows, not even teh angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father''

''Take heed and watch and pray for you do not know when the time is''

So If I were you, I would encourage you not to pay any attention to people forcasting events over which they can have no real knowledge or control! wink Just be ready for Jesus when he returns!wink smile grin

Only God the Father knows and according to Jesus we will not be told! grin

Well, what can I say? Don't hold your breath! lol tongue wink tongue rolleye LOL grin

agreed! - jtt96, May 19, 2011
I think some people jumped the gun and predicted the second coming of Christ before the first one was over. - lorenzo9, May 19, 2011
A much closer look will reveal the JW's have never used the word "rapture"...some (not the entire organization) did believe 1975 to be a milestone year, viz. the end of 6,000 years of mankind's existence on earth and hence mistakenly assumed the end... - cristalino, May 19, 2011
...to follow soon afterward, selling their homes & worldly possessions, but all for naught... you are correct that "the end" cannot be determined by any human, certainly not at this time! :) - cristalino, May 19, 2011
I wholeheartedly agree and was preparing to post a similar response. - danrivera, May 19, 2011
Thank you Feliz, I completely agree! =) - DJ_Huero, May 19, 2011
Perfecto Feliz! - Nicole-B, May 19, 2011
Thank you, everyone, for your responses :) - FELIZ77, May 19, 2011
Cristalino sure not at this time but as Jesus inferred not ever !:) - FELIZ77, May 19, 2011
@Feliz: Well, Jesus spoke throughout the Gospels about 'signs' of his parousia, 'signs' or indicators in world events that would at least give his disciples a heads-up, that's all I'm alluding to with my last comment... :) - cristalino, May 19, 2011
Cristalino, yes he did :) In the same chapters of teh gospels already alluded/referred to - FELIZ77, May 19, 2011

They say it's supposed to happen at 6 pm. They didn't say what time zone, though. Maybe it'll start at the International Date Line and work its way around the globe.

I've got to do a load of laundry before Saturday. I can't go with dirty socks. smile

Edit:

Oh, no, I've run out of laundry soap, and I can't get to the store before Saturday. I wonder what hours my local store will be open on rapture-day.... tongue laugh

Edit:

I just found out that my local store will have a special "Rapture-day clearance sale" on Saturday. All prices are reduced 50%, except for diapers. gulp

My mother was no housekeeper, so when my grandmother was successful in getting a little religion into me, Mom thought she would take advantage of that and she told me I needed to keep the house clean so it would be ready when Jesus came. I was torn. I liked a clean house and I wanted Him to be welcomed properly but I knew she wanted to deceive Him by letting Him think she had done the work. I didn't think it was fair.

My husband just called to tell me that a woman quit her job today because the end of the world was on May 21st. She convinced a coworker to quit as well. This might be a good time to look for a job! wink

Personally, I can hardly wait for May 22nd. You can't walk down a city street in either Philly or NYC without someone bombarding you with pamphlets and bullhorns. I'm sure their heart is in the right place, but if they would follow what God says rather than a man named Harold Camping, they would realize they are wasting their time as well as ours as we try to walk down a street. confused

For those who don't live in an urban area, this is what we encounter daily:

Yes Nicole It would be very funny if people were not so deceived by it Jesus told people not to follow others who claimed to be the Messiah - FELIZ77, May 19, 2011
I agree Nicole, it's kind of sad really. Lol, funny about the jobs though. - DJ_Huero, May 19, 2011

Wow, I just saw this thread and Nicole's photo. This is the first I've heard of it. I guess I'm really out of the loop. We don't see this kind of stuff up here in Cow Hampshire.

Wow, as it seems we don't either here in Madrid, jeje, no way at all this can bother us having the Puerta del Sol full of camping people all of a sudden.
