Second question of the day!

How do you say the word "attendee" in Spanish?

For example:

There were many attendees at the party.

I understand that you could substitute an aproximate word for attendee such as "participante", but I was hoping someone would have a more exact synonym. Thanks! - AlyssaLTerry, May 18, 2011

You could use asistente.

If you're attending a party or something similar, it's invitado, but if you're attending, for example, a conference, it's asistente. - Encalada, Jun 13, 2011

Visitante = Guest

Since this is a party, this might be the right word.

If it were a conference, you might need a different word.

Okay, visitante is visitor, but the dictionary says, guest, too. - JoyceM, May 19, 2011

Collins define attendee in their English dictionary link but still do not give a translation for it.

Maybe you could say people who attended the party? A bit long winded but the same meaning.

I don't know the Spanish but an attendee is a person who is at a party, as a guest, rather than someone who is helping, so asistente doesn't seem right to me.

Sorry this isn't a very helpful answer.

As I can't find it in this dictionary or the one I have here I would use a symoym if I were you

Wilbur, asistir and asistente are false friends. Don't get confused by the words' similarities to those in English - Encalada, Jun 13, 2011
