How do you say "Non-compliant"? I am working on a translation from English to Spanish for a business and the English sentence is: "All non-compliant control points shall be justified". I wrote down: "Todos los puntos de control de incumplimiento deben ser justificados." Is this correct? I feel like my sentence sounds funny.

Hello Alyssa, welcome to the Forum.

Indeed, you sentence sounds funny, you mixed up a couple of things changing the meaning of the sentence completely! smile

For what it's worth, "compliance" is one of those words that can be really difficult to translate in Spanish, together with liability.

In the case of your example, one good option would be:

"Todos los puntos de control que no cumplan (con estas regulaciones / políticas / instrucciones - whatever), deberán ser justificados."

If you supply more context, I'm sure we can come up with an even better option. A direct, one-word translation is not possible here.

I have heard two different ways of saying this on the project where I am working. In this case, we are referring to a "non-compliance notice" in regards to a contract.

We say "nota de no cumplamiento" or "nota de no conformidad," the latter being directly translated as non-conformance, but essentially used in the same fashion.

Hope it helps.
