Do we have any other Rocío Dúrcal fans en estos lares?

I miss her. She had a gloriously expressive, powerful voice that still gives me goosebumps, and she seemed like such a sweet lady. I had never cried over a celebrity death until I found out that she had passed.

Really? I felt that way about Celia Cruz. Rocío´s music is not so much my cup of tea. - Gekkosan, May 18, 2011
Meany. :-), so who are you two talking about anyway? I have never heard of them. Mustn't be my cuppa tea G. :-P, Just kidding - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
Celia Cruz is one of the most famous ever Cuban singers. She sang salsa songs but also other traditionally Cuban styles. I haven't heard of Rocio yet but I'll be sure to check those links. - chicasabrosa, May 19, 2011
Although she's a good singer, it's not my kind of music :|. - chicasabrosa, May 19, 2011
Hello Cuddly - Celia Cruz was fantastic. I have a video of the song she sang to the "I will survive" music. Incredible. - ian-hill, Jun 21, 2011
I hope you like the video I sent you of her singing it "Yo viviré" - ian-hill, Jun 21, 2011

I have always liked her version of "Un sueño de tantos," which I still have on CD with some of her other songs as well. In general, her style of singing rancheras is great!

And this one link text sad and yet beautiful, "La muerte del palomo."
