Academic text Translation help
Here's the chunk of text I have. I'm translating an academic document which examines Zafóns literary output. With this sort of thing you want to capture the register as well as the meaning. That's why my translation has a certain pompous ring to it
We're talking "Academe" folks...

...
So I have:
...the unfolding/recounting of the vicissitudes of a hero delineate a search for self, for salvation, the meaning of life, his own happiness and the different/various challenges the hero has to withstand before he definitively ends up winning/triumphing, echo/reflect the initial/original exigencies/demands that impelled him to his specific search.
My question, should there be any takers, is.... where there are ../... I am faced with a choice. Should anyone be interested I'd like to hear which is best or, even better, a superior alternative. Oh, one last thing sentido de la vida works ok as the meaning of life don't you think?
I'm getting very verbose in my dotage, sorry!

I would say Unfolding, Various, Triumphing, Reflect, Initial, Requirements.
But that's just my opinion ![]()
I would like to recommend slight changes.
the unfolding/recounting of the vicissitudes of a hero delineate a search for himself, for salvation, the meaning of life, his own happiness and the different/various challenges the hero has to withstand before he finally ends up winning/triumphing, echo/reflect the initial/original exigencies/demands that impelled him to his specific search.
I've highlighted the slight changes. But it's entirely up to you if you consider them :]
