I want people to find as many sentences as possible that are about cooking!

Rules:
- The sentence has to be longer than 6 words.
- The sentence has to be shorter than 21 words.
- You have to write it in English and Spanish.
- You can post more than once if you like!
- Nothing offensive please!
- I would appreciate it if pictures were included!
- Anyone is welcome to post!
----------
- You have to correct your posts according to Lazarus.

Okay, let's see what creative sentences you guys are able to come up with!

Johanna_T

Here is my example:

¡Me gusta cocinar todos los días!

I love to cook every day!

(I hope the spanish version makes sense, I am only a beginner!)

Jaja, yes I had a hard time learning to clean up along the way and not let it build up! :P - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
It is good. The comma is not necessary like in English, though (but you can leave it). - lazarus1907, May 19, 2011

PBee:

Here are two recipes for red salsa, mexican style:

Ingredientes:

4 jitomates grandes (red tomatoes)

6 chiles cuaresmeños (jalapeño or cuaremeño peppers)*

1 cebolla (onion)

1 manojo de cilantro o pipicha (a bunch of cilantro). Opcional.

1 diente de ajo (a clove of garlic)

sal al gusto (salt to taste).

  • En lugar de los cuaresmeños pueden usarse 2 chiles serranos frescos (serrano peppeer) o 2 chiles secos de árbol (chile de árbol dried, delicious!) (si no se quiere muy picante se les deberá quitar las semillas)
  • Instead of cuaresmeños, you can use serrano pepper or chile de árbol pepper dried --you´d better put the seeds aside, if you don´t like hot food--. tongue wink

Roast the tomatoes, the jalapeños and the garlic. Once roasted, liquefy. Then add the onion and pipicha (or cilantro) clean and finely chopped, and salt to taste.

In a saucepan, put a few drops of oil. When it is hot, pour the mixture, which should boil for several minutes, until water is reduced.

Mommy is a very special cook. She always bakes me sweet little cookies and she stews a fantastic soup of chicken and sausage. One time, she had livened up a grill that my uncle had ruined (sausages should always be flipped over). At my birthday party, mommy baked me a cake full of strawberries and sprinkled with white chocolate! Mommy is an amazing cook, and she's a mother as sweet as her pastries. smile

galletitas - pesta, May 17, 2011
I saw that, and also I think my first post was too long. - GuitarWarrior, May 17, 2011
Yes, I know that too. But I enjoyed reading your first long post! :) - pesta, May 17, 2011
Well, GuitarWarrio, you don't have to be exactly within those words, I said that so that people wouldn't make them tooo long or to short, so if you go a few words over don't worry! Just not to much. :) Cheers mate. - Destroyed99, May 17, 2011
Also, you forgot to put English version of what you said :) - Destroyed99, May 17, 2011
I don't quite understand this sentence. Assuming that "parilla" is "parrilla", it would mean "to liven up/entertain a grill"???? - lazarus1907, May 18, 2011
Hmm... thanks guys, I'll put up my first post and correct the spelling :) - GuitarWarrior, May 18, 2011
That is nice GuitarWarrio :) - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011

Why is the "a" needed here and not before cocinar for Jen's cupcakes? - Tosh, May 18, 2011
Hmmm, I don't know! :-P - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
If I would have typed that, I probably would have just put "Me gusta cocinar..." because "cocinar" already means "to cook". Estoy confundido. - Tosh, May 18, 2011
I am also confused now :/ Well Lazzy thought it was alright! We will see what he has to say then ;-) - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
I saw it again on this thread. "Me gusta a cocinar para mi familia...". Hmmm, yes, I guess we'll wait to see what he says. But even Paralee says in the video that a verb in it's infinitive form always means "to cook", "to run", "to eat", etc. - Tosh, May 18, 2011
It should be "me gusta cocinar" Lazarus is human :) - cogumela, May 18, 2011
Of course he is human! :P - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
I'm not making bets on Lazarus' nature (kidding!), but I agree with Cogumela. It's "me gusta cocinar". - Gekkosan, May 18, 2011
What is that sauce on top of the spaghetti? Looks wonderful! - Gekkosan, May 18, 2011
@lazarus - I caught something that you didn't... it will probably never happen again! :) - Tosh, May 18, 2011
@Gekkosan: it is an Olive and anchoivie sauce :-) | @Tom: Oye! bragger! jaja - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
Actually, I'm not correcting anything until Lazzy tells me to! :-P - Destroyed99, May 18, 2011
So you like to to cook? :P - Tosh, May 18, 2011
Yes! I love to cook Tom! :-) - Destroyed99, May 19, 2011
I asked if you like to to cook... 'cause that's what you wrote. ;) - Tosh, May 19, 2011

está haciendo* (I think)... está* rota* (I think).... HTH... better yet, according to S¡D! dictionary, cocinar > "to do the cooking" (and "to cook", of course), so: ... está cocinando [todo] mientras... (I think) - Goldie_Miel, May 18, 2011
To see what I mean, look up "cooking". You can find it under "cocinar", too but you'd have to search for it ;) - Goldie_Miel, May 18, 2011
