Que buena noche "hace"
Why is hace needed there? Que buena noche.
Also,
I know you say "hace calor" etc... for the weather. (beginner stuff) but seeing this makes me really wonder about what the hacer is really doing in those sentences. It makes cold = it is cold, is how I always saw it.
What a good night it makes. I know I shouldn't translate but this hace has got me thinking.

Well, it is really the same thing:
Hace bueno
Hace malo
Hace buena noche
Hace mal tiempo
Whatever-.-----
Is the same. Que calor hace o hace calor o que calor.... and the same.... que buena noche, que buena noche hace
