Is there a difference between 'estoy muy contento' and 'estoy muy contentado'?
'I am very happy'
I am just trying to get to grips with using past participles as adjectives!

Hi, billygoat!
No significant differences in meaning, I think, but the first one is common whilst the second one is really unusual.
The verb "contentar(se)" very usually takes its pronominal form:
Me contento fácilmente.
or as non-adjectivated participle:
Me habría contentado con menos.
Also, note that contento cannot be used as a verb.
Me habría contento con menos.

"Estoy contentado" sounds much more unusual than "I am contented". Actually, I don't think I've ever even heard it before; where I come from, people always say "contento".
