translation of "supe"

In the song "No Te Quiero Nada" there is a line: "Porque en el punto exacto de la oscuridad no supe más de ti"

Which is translated : "Because at the exact point of darkness I didn't hear anymore from you."

I would appreciate any help in understanding how "supe" is translated as "hear."

Thank you

"Supe" is the preterite of "saber", a verb that indicates that you know about something or someone. If you no longer "know" anything about someone is probably because you haven't heard anything from this person; hence that "didn't hear".

'it' is probably :) and I would say 'the' didn't hear rather than 'that' - not sure why though lol :) - Kiwi-Girl, May 16, 2011
