I'm Struggling with this..(Need some help my SD friends)
I seem to run into these Buzz-saws when trying to help someone out. Maybe its back to verb conjugation class. The dust hasn't even began to collect in the Dunce Corner since I last left. Are the lyrics strange in Spanish? Am I making this harder than it should be?
Como me hablabas tú del amor ..... How you spoke to me of love,
No me han hablado nunca jamás.... no one had ever spoken to me.
Y mi sorpresa contigo fue .......... And my amazement with you was
Solo el mirarte la primera vez ...... simply the first look at you.
Como inventabas tú el amor ........ How you created the love like
No lo ha inventado nadie jamás .... no one had ever created it.
(why the verb inventar?)
Pasaba el sueño cerca de ti ........ It slept close to you,
Que me separa de la felicidad ..... it keeps me from happiness.
(It? What is it?, the love that has been invented?)
Y como hacías tú el amor ........... And as you made love,
Con otra nunca lo hice igual ........ with no other did I do the same.
Las tentaciones de hacerte mía .. The temptations to make you mine,
No me abandonarán jamás ......... will never abandon me.

Tsk-tsk... Surely you have seen my comment about this sort of thing before? Poetry is a different language, dude!
Are these lyrics strange? No, not as lyrics. Now, if someone approached me, and started trying to talk to me like that, then yeah, I'd think they're weird and I'd try to scuttle away.
The way you used to speak (to me) about love, no one else has ever done it.
How you invented love - not created. Why not invent? It's poetry! This person does not create love! He/She invents it!
The dream passed close to you, that keeps me from happiness. (It the dream, no the love!) Don't ask, I'm not the poet!
And the way you used to make love, I never experienced with another.
Pretty nice attempt overall. But as I said, poetry is a different language. You cannot use the same translation rules, you must do a whole lot more interpretation.
