When I do the recall for verbs, I can sometimes spot the proper pronoun for the verb, but it is confusing when I see a single person doing something, but it cd either be tu, yo, or el (ella); the same goes for two people (ellos o nosotros). What gives the clue which pronoun is the right one?

Most of the time you'll see chat bubbles near the people. It should be clear in these cases who is talking. Someone may be pointing at a group of people and then a chat bubble is connected to the pointer. In this case it will be él or ella if they are pointing at one person, or "ellos/ellas" if they are pointing at more than one person, or, in some cases maybe, "vosotros." Someone may be alone in the picture with a chat bubble connected to their self. In this case it would be "yo." Some may have the bubble connected to two individuals; in this case you'll want to use "nosotros." Also if there is a picture of twins you most likely will use "nos." "Tu" is trickier, but usually if someone is pointing at someone else and the person being pointed to is reacting it should be "tu."

But your best bet in cases of ambiguity is just to study the flashcards until you remember the specific picture and the specific response.

why can't they just simplify this and use a linking line for nosotros, and an arrow pointing to the head for yo, pointing to the chest for el, and an arrow coming from above for tu? it cd be explained in the introduction to the lesson - Marsviking, May 16, 2011
