Flash player / microphone problem

Flash player / microphone problem

A few hours ago whilst doing the Learn Spanish lessons I struck a problem with the 'speak' section. Where normally The pop up window would appear to 'allow' or 'deny' sdswift.com to access the microphone, I instead had the message "you must allow flash player access to your mic". Go ahead I thought, I'm not stopping you even though I don't like your imperative tone. So anyway not sure why it stopped working (hamster fell off it's wheel?) but I solved it eventually by going back to the flashcard part of the lesson then right clicking. This gives you access to 'settings' ( which is greyed out in the "speak" section) and from there you can allow access to the microphone. I should say this is on a laptop running windows 7 and using firefox as the browser.

Hopefully this could help someone else if they come across the same problem. Bare in mind though, I am just a carpenter and I have no actual knowledge of what is going on inside these infernal machines.

I am stuck on this now. Can't get the "Allow / Deny" prompt to come back :-(

I restarted my PC and it didn't help. I went back to the lesson's flash cards and it didn't help. This is my first time on lesson 2.3. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I ended up skipping the microphone portion of 2.3. I hope it works when I get to 2.4. - lagarto, Aug 10, 2011

Yeah me too. I think computers have personalities, sometimes they behave very strangely for no reason!

Which craft!!
