Eurovision Song Contest 2011

I am not interested in who the winner may be as I am sure it will be awful. I am interested in the fact that I am sure England will get more votes than Spain. Mind you, at least Spain had the courage to sing in their own language.

What's your opinion. Will England beat Spain?

We had a blast watching it in a bar last night. A few guys from Ireland were quite excited! If you take it as frivolous fun, it is quite enjoyable. Remember, without Eurovision, we would have never had ¨Waterloo.¨ Jejeje.

I watched the song contest too. It bothers me to know from the beginning who is going to vote for whom. People in my country do that too and I think it's unacceptable.

It's funny to see how does each country vote tongue laugh yeah, we won't see top artists on eurovision but still it is in its characteristic way etentertaining.

Pibosan, i believe that even when they sing in their native languages the lyrics are without any deeper sense

LOL !! I know! But at least when it's sung in a language I don't know very well, I just let it flow over me. - Pibosan, May 15, 2011

I enjoyed the show, as I do every year. It is a shame that they mostly now sing in English. I do wish that they get a native English speaker to look over the lyrics. Some of them are just meaningless strings of words.

It will be interesting to see how they stage it next year.

Ireland came in 8th, woo! Go Jedward! Lovely kids.

I'm happy for Azerbajan as they haven't been in it very long and people tease them a lot about not being in Europe, as if there's something wrong with them being part of the European Broadcasting Union ( :( )

Some people take the contest much too seriously (Terry Wogan for example!), it's just a bit of fun and a way for countries to forget about politics and all sing together on the same stage. So nice. Feels like we're all united in frivolity one night a year. It doesn't matter who wins.

Final Points Total

England - 100 points

Spain - 50 points.

Mind you Spain did extremely well at the end. At one point they were last.
