I found this text online along with some helpful vocab and thought it might be useful here for comprehension practice:
So the idea is - without using a dictionary or checking anything online - read the article and see how much you comprehend.
Then write your english definition of the vocab words making sure that the definition fits in with the text. Ie. some words will have more than one definition or more than one way of being translated but just give the one that makes sense in the given article.
Beginners are welcome, just see how many words you know and fill those out. Some of the words/phrases are easy peasy and others a little more of a challenge so all the best

Submarino narco en frontera con Ecuador AP | TUMACO, Colombia Unas siete toneladas de drogas fueron encontradas por equipos de la Armada colombiana en un submarino semisumergible de fabricación artesanal que estaba a kilómetro y medio de la frontera con Ecuador.
El hallazgo ocurrió el miércoles pasado cuando la nave de 18 metros de largo, 3 de ancho y fabricada en fibra de vidrio, intentó realizar el viaje desde un astillero artesanal en la zona rural de Tumaco, en el departamento de Nariño, a unos 605 kilómetros al suroeste de Bogotá, Colombia.
El contralmirante Hernando Wills, comandante de la fuerza naval del Pacífico, con jurisdicción en la zona del hallazgo, dijo que a la nave solo le falta la propela o hélice para su primer viaje llevando drogas.
“Solo le faltaba la propela y llenar los tanques (de combustible). Estaba todavía en su cuna del astillero fuera del agua”, aseguró Wills.
El semisumergible, de acuerdo con el oficial, podía llevar unas siete toneladas de cocaína por aguas del Pacífico hacia mercados de Centroamérica y luego a los Estados Unidos.
El aparato, cuyo valor se estima entre 700.000 y 800.000 dólares, es el segundo encontrado en lo que va del año, mientras que en el 2010 fueron hallados cuatro de este tipo que en sus travesías mantiene parte de su estructura fuera del agua.
Wills dijo que la diferencia del semisumergible encontrado esta semana con un narcosubmarino descubierto a mediados de febrero, y que fue el primero en su tipo hallado en Colombia, es que el detectado carece de tanques de compensación y compresores de aire y al no tenerlos no permite que la nave se sumerja completamente.
