I'd say: Tengo que irme, porque me esperan. - lazarus1907, May 13, 2011
Thanks Laz - you'd miss out the 'over there' part? - galsally, May 14, 2011

Hello wannalearn and Welcome to the SpanishDict forum grin

It is clear that you need to use the verb to leave rather than to go. In Spanish if you use the verb ir = to go you Must indicate the destination i.e: where you are going! There is no such requirement when you use the verb irse = to leave

So I would say:

Necesito irme / o tengo que irme ....porque hay alguien que me esperan ahí.

=I need to leave/I must leave because there is someone waiting for me there

Using the verb ir you would have had to say tengo que ir a mi casa etc...

But the verb irse is more appropriate here for reasons I have mentioned above!

I hope that helps grin

Corregid mi español, por favor grin

PS It would be much appreciated if you could write your question/request clearly please rather than simply leave a sentence and expect people to work out what you are wanting to know

A category change to proofreading would say it best. - EL_MAG0, May 13, 2011
