Is "enamorarse" always romantic?

Is "enamorarse" always romantic?

In English you can use "fall in love with" in ways other than referring to romance.

For example, you can fall in love with a book, a movie, a song, a restaurant, an animal, a pair of shoes, etc.

In Spanish to say:

We fell in love with the puppy immediately.

Could you say:

Nos enamoramos con el cachorro inmediatamente.

Or does that sound creepy, like you fell in love romantically with a dog?

Yes, you could say that in Spanish the same way you do in English, but the phrase would be: Nos enamoramos del cachorro inmediatamente.

Given the context it's understood you're not a creepy person, you just love the dog, or the movie or your Ferrari

Nos enamoramos del cachorro inmediatamente.

Always "de", not "con".
