"Occured" could be said a lot of ways, Buckle, depending on what the concept is you are trying to convey.

If it "has occured" then you would say ha occurido. Occurido is a participle, usually you see people refer to it as a "past participle."

dcalienz is right in that occurió would work in other cases as well. Ocurrió would mean "it occurred."

If you want a more meaningful answer you will need to provide more context. Perhaps give a sentence in which you would like to know how to use the word "occurred" and then try to say it yourself in Spanish given what answers you have already received so that someone can correct it and then give you a more precise answer.

Your answer is much more comprehensive, so I am voting you to the top. Please don't vote for mine. - dc-alien-z, May 12, 2011

ocurrió Is how I would say it. Keep in mind that I may not be right. Someone with madder skills than me will probably answer this.

Too bad them Lakers lacked "mad" skills... oops how did that get in here? :) - cristalino, May 12, 2011
That's what Madrid said about Barcelona. I take it the Lakers finished below first place. - dc-alien-z, May 12, 2011
