Dos sismos mortales en España

Being from my country does not make more or less traumatic; there are human beings who will suffer the loss of families and friends.
By the way, have you ever wondered why 10 or 20 people dying in an earthquake becomes news and moves people so deeply, while something like the report below this is not news, even though the death toll is 150 times higher and much more painful?
Today, 1500 children die in agony from malnutrition...
Not exciting or different enough to be on the front page? Too repetitive perhaps? If it is not a violent and out of the ordinary event, it is not news, and if it is not news, it is a happy day for us because nothing bad happened. Why do people only pray for those who died in this or that incident, only because it is news? What about the rest of the people who die, but not appear in the news?
Many people die everyday under horrible circumstances, but we rely on the news to give us our small doses of mourning for something sensationalist that happened somewhere else, with some occasional super-sensationalist catastrophe for which we are supposed to really express our sadness more often and in front of more people, at least for a couple of days or so. However, who would watch several hours of live see-how-they-are-dying in front of your eyes, tracking deaths all over the world, one after another? That could easily be a 24 h channel! Too much, right? We just want the right dose, not too high, not too low, as prescribed by the guys who control the media and the public opinion -they know better what's best for us.
I better not get started.
Omg! I hope everything is OK for our dear friends, I'm so worried about them, they will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for letting us know, Kevin.
I hate earthquakes!
That's awful, my heart goes out to anyone affected. It seems there are few places on earth where you can escape them these days.
Oh, God...I hope none of our dear Spaniard SD members is directly affected!!! Or any of their loved ones! This is so tragic. My heart goes out to all the people whose lives have been touched by this tragedy... ![]()
