Culture Comparison Sentences

I have to tell two love stories to my class and explain what they say about the culture they come from. I'm trying to say that one says 'If two people are meant to be together, then they will be together forever' and that the other says 'If you truly love someone, you can't make them something they're not and you have to be able to let them go'.

"Si dos personas estan hechos uno para otro, estarán juntos para siempre." "Si amas a alguien de veras, no puedes cambiarlo y tienes que..." here's where I'm lost.

Are the parts that I have correct? Can anyone please help me with 'you have to be able to let them go'? Muchas gracias!
